Karla Velázquez

Director and Visual Development Artist | Mexico

Karla Velázquez is a Mexican artist specialized in Art Direction, Visual Development, and Background Design. Her work is distinguished by experimentation with techniques, bold styles, and the expressive use of color to bring unique universes to life and tell stories. She has built her career in both studio and independent productions, mostly as a freelancer. Her experience includes collaborations with DreamWorks TV, Cartoon Network, Ánima Studios, among others, contributing to the development of feature films and series, and transforming creative visions into vibrant realities.

As a director, her path has gained strong international momentum thanks to her participation in labs, festivals, and markets such as Animation! Ventana Sur Mentorships for Women Creators, MIAnima Mentorship Program, Premios Quirino, LALIFF, BogoShorts, MIFA Pitches 2024, and the Annecy Festival Artistic Residency.
