Jon Juarez is one of the minds behind some of the most mind-blowing universes in audiovisual science fiction. A self-taught artist, he has built his career to the point of being nominated for an Annie Award for his production design work, developing these worlds from the mountains of San Sebastián.
In 2011, he began writing, drawing, and publishing short comics, and in 2012 he received the INJUVE Award from the Spanish government for a collection of those stories. From that point on, he began working professionally as a comic artist and concept artist for audiovisual projects such as Another Day of Life, a documentary about Kapuscinski that won a Goya and an EFA Award (Best European Animated Feature).
In 2018, he returned to a personal project to develop the original script for the comic strip Caramanchada, but the project was interrupted by the opportunity to join the creative ideation team for Telefónica's Alpha project, where he explored possibilities in technology and speculative future design in search of a potential "moonshot" aimed at developing disruptive technology ten years into the future.
After the birth of his second daughter, he returned to the Basque Country, where he collaborates on the worldbuilding of several projects, most notably the science fiction series Scavengers Reign, for which he was nominated for an Annie Award for Best Production Design.
