At ¡Viva Calavera!, we are betting on independent animation made by humans and for humans. Our team is growing to produce two animated short films immediately. If you are looking for an opportunity to join the industry, are a 2D frame-by-frame animator in the rough, tie-down, or clean/color processes, or want to grow as a producer, we want to meet you.

How to participate in this activity

Any pass can participate. Just follow these steps:

1. You must have your profile on elatlas.mx and have work published in the “Portfolio” section. It is very important that you have work for the profiles you are applying for, so that the ¡Viva Calavera! team can review it. If you have never uploaded a portfolio on elatlas.mx, here are the basic steps:

   • Log in to elatlas.mx with the same email and password you use on elfestival.mx
   • Complete your profile with basic information, and customize your header image and avatar. Choose a Tagline that describes your main qualities.
   • IMPORTANT: To be able to apply for interviews, it is essential that you add work in the “Portfolio” section. The work must demonstrate your capabilities and skills.
   • For each piece of work you upload, don't limit yourself to the main image: you can show stages of the process, or even a reel (you must host it on Vimeo or YouTube beforehand).
   • Don't forget to include the software you used for each piece of work: there are companies looking for people who use specific software.

2. Once your portfolio is up, go to this link and look for the entries that say ¡Viva Calavera!. Explore the ones that are closest to what you know how to do and click "Request Review".

3. The ¡Viva Calavera! team will review the portfolios of the applicants for each profile and schedule appointments with those who best meet the published profile for an in-person review.

4. If you are among those selected, you will receive an email with the date and time for an interview during the festival. Check your email frequently, including the SPAM folder.

In all cases, the interviews will take place at Ciudad Creativa Digital during the festival. Don't be late for your appointment. Best of luck!

NOTE: The interview dates are not the times this article appears; they can be at any time during the festival. In case you have a one-day pass and your appointment does not correspond to the date it is assigned, you do not need to purchase another pass: you will be able to attend your appointment by showing the acceptance email at the registration area.
