The Revolution We Believe In

A conference that takes us deep into the brain of Mr. Machin and the heart of Pixelatl, where we will go through the process of creating the official cineminute: from building its universe and the first ideas to turning them into an animated piece with three protagonists, three industries, three time periods, and one great adventure.

The piece was born from the Pixelatl manifesto, which this year puts resistance in difficult times and the importance of artists as agents capable of imagining, questioning, and transforming their surroundings front and center. Added to this is France as the guest country of honor, creating a nod to the Résistance and to the idea of resisting through creativity and collaboration.

We will meet Haky, Camille, and Yuita, the three characters who represent the industries that bring Pixelatl to life, and discover how they were created, how their designs and personalities evolved, and how their roles within the story took shape throughout the process.

We will show the real behind the scenes of the production: creative and technical processes, visual development, sequence construction, directing decisions, tests, changes, setbacks, problems, deadlines, and the solutions that allowed us to take the project from an idea to the screen.

We will close with a screening of the extended version of the cineminute, where we will discover the story of our three protagonists as a mysterious amorphous entity tries to destroy Yuita’s comic. A talk about animation, production, creative decisions, and everything that happens when an idea stops being on paper and starts moving.

Because, in the end, creating is also resisting.
