Publish Your Comic with SecuenciArte

SecuenciArte is a comics competition that we launched for the first time in 2014 with the goal of promoting comic creators and helping connect them with the animation and videogame community, while also encouraging collaborations so their stories can find new formats and platforms for storytelling.

The grand prize of the competition is the publication of the winning comics and their official presentation at the Pixelatl festival, along with a table where you can sell them and be discovered by the community

Among the applicants each year, a group of finalists is selected to receive a SecuenciArte pass for the Pixelatl festival. This pass is equivalent to the Creator pass, but includes additional activities and grants one day of access to the festival market, as well as a meal and a party with the invited guests.

During the festival, selected participants take part in the SecuenciArte Pitch, where they present their comic to the jury (artists, authors, and/or international editors).

The winning comics will be published in 2027, and the creators also will participate in a panel to present their printed comic at the following year’s festival, as well as receive a space in Amoxtin to sell it.

So far, we have published 38 comics (with three more currently in print), and among the winners are authors who have already established themselves within the national industry.

What else should I know to participate?

• The competition is open to all Mexican authors, illustrators, storytellers, or creative professionals.
• Both emerging creators and established authors may participate.
• Graphic novels or collections of comic strips are accepted.
• Any theme and illustration technique is allowed.
• To apply, you must correctly complete the form available at secuenciarte.com, where you will submit your comic.
• The participation fee is $600 MXN, payable directly through the form via Paypal, or through bank transfer or deposit by submitting proof of payment.
