Pixelatl Will Be Part of the Great Celebration

On July 14, a press conference was held at Casa de Francia, where what will be a Great Franco-Mexican Celebration commemorating 200 years of relations between France and Mexico was announced. And Pixelatl will be part of it!
The Great Franco-Mexican Celebration is an ambitious program featuring more than 200 artistic, academic, and scientific activities that will take place in 21 different cities across the country, including "exhibitions, performing arts, cinema, music, heritage, gastronomy, and other proposals that will bring contemporary creation and the shared history of both countries into dialogue."
The conference also announced the integration of some of Mexico's landmark events that will be part of this year's celebration, including the 2026 International Cervantino Festival, the Morelia Film Festival, the UNAM International Film Festival, the Guadalajara and Monterrey Book Fairs, Fotoseptiembre, and other cultural and gastronomic events… and Pixelatl is part of this celebration!
The presentation was attended by María Teresa Mercado Pérez, Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs; Delphine Borione, Ambassador of France to Mexico; Alejandra de la Paz, General Director of INBAL; Jean-François Guéganno, Cultural Counselor and Director of IFAL; and Valeria Palomino, General Director of Cultural Promotion and Festivals.
Pixelatl's participation in the Great Franco-Mexican Celebration is the result of more than 14 years of collaboration with the Annecy International Animation Festival, which, among other things, led to the joint launch of Shortway and five years of collaboration on the program, as well as Mexico's selection as the Country of Honor at Annecy 2023. This allowed us to showcase some milestones in Mexican animation and led us to convene and coordinate a curatorial committee with which we conducted research into the history of Mexican animation and curated nine short film programs that were presented in France and at other festivals in Mexico (later, part of the committee secured support to publish a book based on the research, featuring a statistical analysis that was presented at Pixelatl 2024).
