James Eason-Garcia is co-executive producer and story editor of Disney Jr.'s “Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends,” which follows a young Tony Stark (Iron Man), Riri Williams (Ironheart), and Amadeus Cho (Iron Hulk) as they use their superpowers and work together to make the world a better place.
A lifelong comic book reader and Disney fan, Eason-Garcia showed a passion for animation from a young age. Growing up in a blue collar Mexican-American family, he was the first in his family to graduate from college, attending Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) where he studied film and television, before going on to pursue a master’s degree in Visual Studies at the University of Colorado Denver. After college, he relocated to Los Angeles to work in animation full-time.
His love of Disney - combined with his focus and work ethic - paved the way for his first job as a production assistant on the Emmy Award-winning Elena of Avalor before working his way up to staff writer on several other Disney Jr. series including Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, Pupstruction, T.O.T.S. and The Chicken Squad.
Originally from Boulder, Colorado, Eason-Garcia currently resides in Los Angeles with his husband Michael, their dogs Sydney Bristow and Bruce Wayne, and his collection of over 30,000 comic books.
