Take part in the 2026 edition of the Paal Illustrated Children’s Story Contest and publish your picture book!
Authors and illustrators from across Latin America may participate individually, as a duo, or as a team. The winning story will be printed as part of Pixelatl’s Paal Collection, and the authors will receive royalty payments and 20 copies.
In addition, by registering to participate, you are entitled to receive online mentorship from specialists who will help you develop your children’s story.
About Paal
The illustrated story or picture book is a medium of expression for artists and storytellers, and a publishing industry product especially valued by young audiences. It can also be a much more affordable way to begin presenting and testing an intellectual property with its intended audience. For this reason, at the end of 2021 we launched a new strategy inviting authors and illustrators to create illustrated children’s stories and participate in the Paal – Illustrated Children’s Story Contest.
The objective of this strategy is also to gradually build, over the years, a collection of illustrated children’s stories for children in our region.
The best projects will participate in a pitch session during the festival to select the first-place winner.
