As we announced in the first article of the year, the Pixelatl Festival will take place in November in 2026 — and now we have the dates!

But that’s not all: in addition to Guadalajara, we will also have activities in Zapopan.

Yes, this has happened before (in 2022 and 2023 several activities took place at Casa del Autor in Zapopan), but since everything happened simultaneously and travel time between locations is significant, this year we have decided to extend the duration of the festival so that the Zapopan activities do not overlap with those in Guadalajara.

Pixelatl 2026 will last 7 days!

Save the dates:
- November 6 and 7 in Zapopan
- November 9 to 14 in Guadalajara

Other Changes We Are Planning

Based on feedback received during the last festival, we are developing a much more differentiated program so that specialized or professional-oriented activities can be clearly distinguished from those aimed at people just starting in the industry. This adjustment will also include specialized programs for writers, concept artists, comic creators, developers, character creation, worldbuilding, producers, and business development beyond traditional distribution channels.

Of course, we will continue presenting case studies and works in progress because, despite the global industry facing a visible crisis, projects continue to be developed and narratives are being built through alternative media. Many creators have found new niches and financing models worth exploring.

And as always, we will have screenings, workshops, Coffee With sessions, drawing sessions, demos, Comic Alley, and everything that year after year proves useful and fun for participants. And yes, we will also introduce a new gamification dynamic.

Finally, memory and future: as we explained in one of our earliest manifestos, to commemorate is to remember together. That is also what we want for this Festival celebrating Pixelatl’s 15th anniversary — to commemorate and recognize those who, through their journey, have opened paths for others. But above all, to celebrate the future we are building together: what we can become if we walk forward side by side.
