Participate in the 2025 Summit

| Open Calls | 2025 |

On November 14, we will gather in Guadalajara to think about the future together.

The Pixelatl Summit is a biennial meeting held with the participation of some of Mexico’s most important studios, to discuss how to coordinate creativity, financing, and distribution in the new audiovisual landscape.

In recent years, the international industry has undergone a transformation that has put the traditional business model in crisis, creating new challenges for the entire sector.

For this reason, this edition of the Pixelatl Summit is designed as a space to discuss how we can work together to face today’s challenges.

Using a roundtable methodology to structure the discussion, on November 14 we will meet at Ciudad Creativa Digital in Guadalajara to collectively develop new strategies for training and collaboration to address the current state of the industry and promote more animated productions.

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the form at lacumbre.mx, where you will find more details about this event, or review the call for entries below.

We are shaping the future of the industry and want you to be part of it

More about the Summit

The first edition of the Pixelatl Summit was held in 2019 in Mexico City. Since then, each edition has taken various forms depending on the context and the needs we identified among the studios. For example, the first edition was mainly a creative business meeting, with participation from executives of international studios commissioning services, so that participants could showcase their work and obtain international contracts.

In 2021, the second edition took place in the midst of the pandemic. At that time, the most established studios in Latin America (which we called “antenna studios”) were overwhelmed with work (we experienced what we called the “production bubble,” caused by the proliferation of on-demand streaming services). For that reason, we invited smaller studios (which we called boutique) that were experiencing a completely different situation, with many contracts canceled due to the pandemic. The intention was to help build productive chains where the expertise of the “boutique studios” could strengthen the overall capacity of the sector.

In 2023, it was Mexico’s year at Annecy, and the entire effort of the summit focused on giving Mexican studios a space for exposure in the official program, as well as meetings and networking events among all attending delegates.

For 2025, due to the challenging conditions the global industry is experiencing, which have led many animation studios worldwide into crisis, we aim for the summit to be a space to think about the future of the industry together.
