Comic of the Year 2026
Comic of the Year 2026
| Open Calls | 2026 |
The Chinelo is the award that Pixelatl presents each year to the best animated short films from around the world, the best Latin American video game of the year, and the best published Mexican comic.
In the case of comics, we seek to recognize the best Mexican comic published between January 1, 2025, and August 31, 2026.
We seek to recognize and award printed comics, whether published by a publishing house or self-published. Works originally published digitally (either on a specific platform or through social media) are also eligible, as long as they were subsequently published in print.
In the case of works published as magazines or periodical comic books (that is, a story spread across several issues of 32 to 48 pages), all publications released during the dates covered by this call may be submitted as a single work.
How to Submit a Comic
All submitted works will receive a 1-Day Creator Pass for the festival, which will take place from November 7 to 14 this year. Selected works will receive a SecuenciArte Pass (which works like a Creator Pass for the entire festival, with some additional benefits), as well as the opportunity to have a space at Amoxtín, the Comic Alley. The winner will receive the commemorative Pixelatl Chinelo statuette.
Download and review the complete participation guidelines through the link at the end of this article. Works can be submitted through the form available at convocatoriaspixelatl.com.
You have until September 21 to submit a comic.
