Wednesday, April 8, Shortway Campus opens its doors with a series of must-see masterclasses and talks, open to the general public, along with an Ideatoon workshop at Ciudad Creativa Digital in Guadalajara. A unique opportunity to learn directly from international talent and be part of one of the most exciting spaces for animation in the region.
Among our guests will be Flóra Anna Buda, Hungarian director and animator awarded the Palme d'Or du court métrage at Cannes as well as the Annecy Cristal for her short film 27; we will also welcome Ariel Award-winning animated short filmmaker Sofía Rosales, currently production supervisor at Laika, who also worked as first assistant director for the second unit of Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio; and Natalia Pájaro, director of the independent studio La Edina in Mexico City, currently producing the feature film The Language of Birds.
In addition, we will host a panel featuring René Castillo, Carlos Gaxiola, Jonatan Guzmán, and Claudio Jiménez, who will share previews of the animated short films they are creating to celebrate Jalisco as a host of the World Cup.
These talks and masterclasses are free for participants, but interested attendees must register through this form. As part of the open activities, we will also hold an Ideatoon Workshop on Wednesday the 8th at 12 PM. Register through the same form.
