Visual development artist at Netflix Animation | Spain/USA

Marcos Mateu-Mestre is an animation designer and author, with more than three decades experience in feature animation. Marcos began his career at London’s Amblimation on 'We’re Back! A Dinosaur’s Story' and 'Balto'. He was part of the original creative team at Dreamworks Animation contributing to 'The Prince of Egypt' and 'The Road To El Dorado'. He also worked at Sony Animation and is now part of the team at Netflix Animation studios where he recently was Production Designer of the major animated feature 'ULTRAMAN: RISING'. His film credits also include 'Surf’s Up', 'Puss In Boots', 'Turbo', 'How To Train Your Dragon 2' and 'Penguins of Madagascar'. Beyond his film work, Mateu-Mestre has shared his visual storytelling experience in a collection of instructional books that have been translated into numerous languages. He has also taught drawing, illustration, and visual storytelling techniques for more than a decade.
