Winner of the EMMY AWARD for “Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation” for Best Production Design for Cartoon Saloon’s “Star Wars: Visions” and Annie Award Nomination for “Best Production Design for Feature” for Mamoru Hosoda’s “Belle”.
Almu is an Art Director and Production Designer for animated projects, as well as Concept Artist for projects in development and developing IPs. She collaborates with many directors and their teams helping push the boundaries and exploring new styles, like Tomm More, Ross Stewart, Nora Twomey, Paul Young, Mamoru Hosoda or Rodrigo Blaas.
Architect by trade, she has been trained in Fine Arts since she was 6 years old. After working as an architect for 3 years, she started working in VFX as Matte Painter, Concept Artist, Art Director and Storyboarder in films such as Jason Bourne, Aladdin or Doolittle, until she moved to CG and 2D animation.
Today her work includes Production Design and Concept Artist as she teaches and participates in international festivals and universities and lives in between Kilkenny Ireland, Australia, Singapore, London, Spain, Paris or Beijing.
