Phil Lord and Chris Miller are the Academy Award-winning duo behind some of today’s most successful films. On the features side, Lord and Miller were behind the animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse, which won the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for “Best Animated Feature”, along with a BAFTA Award, seven Annie Awards, and 20+ awards by various critics’ groups. The duo was also behind the highly-anticipated Spider-Verse sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which was released in theaters in June 2023 to rave reviews and just surpassed $642 million at the worldwide box office. Most recently, the duo produced two features with Universal including Cocaine Bear with Elizabeth Banks directing, and Strays starring Will Ferrell, Jaime Foxx, and Will Forte, which will be released in theaters on August 18, 2023.

Lord and Miller also produced the Academy Award-nominated feature, The Mitchells Vs. The Machines, which premiered in April 2021 on Netflix and went on to be nominated for an Academy Award in 2022 for Best Animated Feature Film.

In 2014, Lord and Miller wrote and directed the first installment in the franchise, The Lego Movie, which earned BAFTA, PGA, NBR, BFCA Critics Choice, and Annie Awards as well as a Golden Globe nomination. Lord and Miller also directed 21 and 22 Jump Street and wrote and directed 2009’s Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Their films have collectively earned over $3.3 billion at the worldwide box office.

On the television side, Lord and Miller are executive producers on The Afterparty for Apple TV+. The comedy, created by Miller, centers on a murder mystery at a high school reunion and just released its second season on July 14th. Lord and Miller are also executive producers on a modern refresh of their critically-acclaimed animated comedy series Clone High for HBO Max which was released on the platform in May 2023.
