Emmy® Award-nominated Sandra Powers is lead editor of Disney Branded Television's Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, based on Marvel's hit comic books.

Powers, a Peruvian-American editor, director, and writer, received a Masters of Fine Arts in film directing from California Institute of the Arts. After graduating, she got her start at Nickelodeon Animation Studios animatic editing on many shows, including The Legend of Korra and Sanjay and Craig. In 2015, she moved onto Dora and Friends: Into the City! as lead editor. Afterward, Powers became lead editor for Elena of Avalor, which follows Disney's first princess inspired by diverse Latin cultures and folklore.

In addition to her work in the animation industry, Powers continues to pursue her creative storytelling through many projects, including directing music videos for bands DeVotchKa, Thrillsville and Precious Child. In 2024, she will direct a music theater project, The Great Soviet Bucket, produced by Beth Morrison Projects and scheduled to premiere at Miami Light Project.

Originally from Miami, Florida, Powers is a rare tropical vampire: she enjoys the sun’s grim heat (with a parasol, of course), but truly feels alive surrounded by all the creepy creatures of the night.
