Directors, Cinema Fantasma | Mexico


Arturo and Roy Ambriz are the directors of Cinema Fantasma, the Mexican stop-motion film and animation studio, the studio that created HBO Max's Frankelda's Book of Spooks, whose first season premiered in October 2021.

They are currently working on the stop-motion feature films "Frankelda and the Prince of Spooks" and The Ballad of the Phoenix, as well as a show in production for Adult Swim.

His stop-motion medium-length film Revoltoso had Guillermo del Toro as one of his main mentors, who in addition to contributing to the financing, helped with consultancies. While the production of Revoltoso was going on, they produced seven animated projects for Cartoon Network Latin America, who become the first client of Cinema Fantasma.

They have produced multiple projects for Adult Swim, including Rick and Morty IDs. They made video clips for the bands WhoMadeWho, Band Of Horses and for Kyle Cook. They have carried out commercial projects for Nickelodeon, NFL, Coca Cola, Santillana, Mattel, Vice and Tanqueray among others.
