Arturo Hernandez’s animation career spans twenty-eight years with over two dozen film credits.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Arturo is a first generation Mexican American whose love of story telling was nurtured by his beloved Abuelita. As a result, his pride in his heritage runs deep.

Arturo’s journey into animation began in 1994 as an assistant animator for Turner Feature Animation on the film, Cats Don’t Dance. He was then recruited to work on Fantasia 2000 for Disney where he spent the next eighteen years as an animator, story artist, and head of story. His film credits there include; Hercules, Tarzan, Atlantis, Treasure Planet, Brother Bear, The Tinker Bell films, Planes: Fire & Rescue, and many more.

In 2015, Arturo left Disney to pursue directing opportunities and was soon developing projects for the Warner Animation Group, Sony Pictures Animation, and Hasbro/eOne, where he also served as a creative supervisor for their animated films and Co-Producer on the film My Little Pony: A New Generation.

More recently, Arturo returned to Warner Animation Group where he is currently directing the all new Cat in the Hat animated feature film and developing The Legend of Speedy Gonzales.
