Angélica Lares

Executive Director of “El Taller del Chucho” | Mexico


Producer, Communicologist and Cultural Manager. She served as Director of Industry and Market at the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG). She headed the "Coproduction Meeting" and "Guadalajara Construye Works in progress"; programs dedicated to the support of projects in different stages of production.

She has worked as a speaker and teacher in different spaces, including the first Asturias-Mexico co-production forum within the framework of the Gijón International Festival and at the “International Co-production” table at the 10th Sao Paulo Latin-American Film Festival. Paul. She was a Key note speaker at CONTECT 2021 and as a teacher in the animation production workshop at the Chair of the International Film and Television School (EICTV) in Cuba.

She has been a jury member at the Santiago de Chile SANFIC festival, the Viña International Film Festival in the Cinema in Progress section and the Mexico Ópera Prima section at the DocsMx International Documentary Film Festival, among others.

She currently serves as the Executive Director of the "Taller del Chucho", located in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. The animation studio is proposed as a unique space in the region for the development and audiovisual production with international quality, encouraging the animation industry, especially that developed with the stop motion technique. The studio hosted the Second Production Unit for Pinocchio, a feature film directed by Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson.
