León Fernández

Director, Animator and Sculptor | Mexico

As a sculptor, animator, producer and creative director of the OUTIK Animation Studio, he has collaborated on a wide variety of stop motion animation projects and the creation of puppets for Humanimalia Studio, of which he is a co-founder.

He has also written and directed the short films * Mutatio *, * Taller de corazón * and * Los aeronautas *, which won the Ariel Award (from the Mexican Film Academy) for best animated short film.

In 2020, he interned for a year at Mackinnon & Saunders to specialize in making stop motion puppets.

He participated as head of the puppet department in the Second Unit of * Pinocchio * by Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson, installed in Taller del Chucho.
