Karla Castañeda

After graduating in Communication Sciences, Karla devoted herself fully to the world of stop motion. Due to her poetic and personal style, her short films have drawn attention in many festivals. Both Jacinta and La noria were recognized with two Ariel Awards (from the Mexican Film Academy).

She is currently making her third short film * Canción de noche * and co-writing and producing her first animated feature film with Guillermo del Toro.

She was part of the production design and art design team of the Second Unit, installed in Taller del Chucho, of the film * Pinocchio * directed by Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson.

This year she was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Sciences in Hollywood.
