After finishing his studies of Audiovisual Realization, his professional beginnings took place in the field of postproduction and advertising realization. In 2009, he founded UniKo, a production company located in Bilbao and specialized in the fields of advertising and animation. Iván has developed more than 500 advertising projects, and his productions have garnered over 140 international awards at prestigious festivals such as Annecy, Chicago, ReAnimania, or Foyle.

His projects include animated short films such as Birdboy (Alberto Vázquez y Pedro Rivero), Sangre de Unicornio (Alberto Vázquez), Viaje a Pies (Khris Cembe), Contact (Alessandro Novelli) y Decorado (Alberto Vázquez) (Goya al Mejor Cortometraje de Animación 2017), La Noche, (Martín Romero), and Loop (Pablo Polledri), among many others.

In UniKo Iván has participated in the production and coordinated the posproduction of the feature film Psiconautas, los niños olvidados (Alberto Vázquez and Pedro Rivero), which won the Goya Award for Best Animation Feature Film,
