Luis “Bishop” Murillo

Luis “Bishop” Murillo has over 30 years of experience and is one of the most complex figures in the Mexican electronic music scene: creator of projects such as Cibernia, Modelo de Placer, Stervhïa, among others; founder of labels and collectives like Grabaciones del Cuarto Blanco, Discos Konfort, Nucleoroto, and Subunda & Breakbeats; and producer and remixer for various national and international artists.
For the past 15 years, he has been a producer and active member of the legendary experimental electronic group Oxomaxoma, and much of his career has also been spent as an academic and researcher. He currently serves as Coordinator of Electronic Music and full-time professor in the Audio Engineering degree program at SAE Institute Mexico, while also writing an essay on the history of Mexican electronic music. His presence in the scene is a vital force and an authority that has transcended eras, styles, and trends, always staying true to a philosophy of total creative independence.
